How does Eco-Eating work?

You segregate or separate your food from other waste, so that food is in all one place. You have a special bin for food waste, put cornstarch bags in it, and put food waste in these.

We empty the food waste bins for you.

Its that simple!

But if you want to be as effective as you possibly can – and of course we’ll always encourage this – you can have three separate bins wherever you collect waste.

The three bins are

  • Food waste – any type of food or liquid
  • Dry recyclable waste – cardboard, tins, paper, cartons, yoghurt pots etc* (Wondering what “etc” means?  Worried about what a ‘dry recyclable’ is? Don’t worry we’ll give you a list, create a bespoke poster, train your staff, run a workshop  and help however you’d like it…
  • General waste – anything else you want to throw away, but don’t want mixed in with other waste. * (Don’t worry, we won’t just chuck this in landfill!  It’ll go in our MRF (hot link)  and be sorted out for recycling)

We supply the bins and the bags you’ll need.  If you generate more waste than can be contained in one bin,  perhaps from several kitchens, then we’ll install a compactor for you so larger amounts of waste can be conveniently stored before collection.
